I buy tons of stuff on Amazon, and normally their packaging is pretty good.This is a big heavy metal toolbox and it is packaged in a flimsy cardboard box that fits the toolbox like a glove.There is a 1/8 inch sheet of foam on top of the box - but that's all there is for cushioning.Basically every corner is guaranteed to get dinged with packaging like that - and that's exactly what happened.There is also a sliding shelf in the toolbox that is completely unsecured.As you can imagine - it banged around inside the toolbox all the way from China to here.So there's plenty of dimples and pimples all over the box from that.
Otherwise the box is fine.It's a truck box, so I'm not going through the hassle of returning it.I certainly wouldn't get a replacement when this packaging basically guarantees that a replacement will be equally as badly damaged.But, unless you're willing to pay for a brand new box that already looks like you've owned it for three years - I would buy locally.
Tradesman - secure the shelf and put some foam on the corners for shipping!!!Why does every manufacturer in the world know to do this except for you?!?
